FAQ - What is White Point ? No. 145
White Point – The lightest tone discernable in an image; all values paler than this threshold appear as white.

If you use a blending or half tone or color that fades to white, digital commercial printing can not achieve a 'no ink status' without have a white point.
Please keep this in mind when setting up artwork with fades.

For sign making, this also shares the technique known as Microstepping – Process of moving media through a printer in smaller-that-standard motions, which can improve dot gain and density when printing solid areas on flexible materials.

FAQ - What are Screen Angles ? No. 146
Screen Angles – In half-tone printing, the geometric intervals at which halftone screens are placed to eliminate the appearance of moiré on a print. Usually, these are back at 45 degrees, magenta at 75 degrees, yellow at 90 degrees and cyan at 105 degrees.
Screen angles are now only used (by us) for screenprinting film setting.
Other printing techniques such as Offset, Litho, Flexo use these terms for platemaking etc. We now use only when screenprinting large run banner signage.

FAQ - Single Pass printing ? No. 147
Single-Pass Printing – Inkjet printing process that uses arrays of stationary printhead clusters (also called “color bars”) instead of a shuttling printhead. The substrate passes beneath printhead arrays in a single pass. Not yet commonly applied to wide format printing.
All our prints are twin (double pass 8 head). This lays down more durable UV sun inks.

FAQ - Meanings Color Abbreviations ? No. 148
CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black) – The four process colors, which are used by output equipment such as inkjet, color, large format printers. Black is called “K” because in process printing it is the key plate or Keyline color. Mixed to provide a color image; typically used in printing applications.

Color Separation  Color separations consist of artwork that has been split into component plates of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black in preparation for process printing (CMYK) or into the required number of plates for spot color printing. Each separation prints a single process or spot color. Digital files can be composite separations (all information in one file) or pre-separated (each color on its own page).

FAQ - Can I choose / use my own font ? No. 149
Sure, we have approx 1600 fonts, but there is always room for one more.
To use your own font, we suggest that if know how to convert to curves this will turn the font into an object. (best technique) otherwise, go to your font folder and send an email attachment with the font folder in it's entirety. We can install on our server and embed the font folder you send inside your client folder for further jobs etc.
