Special Fonts and Characters |
|
| Nodes and special
font attributes. When choosing a special font or drawing one for
your own uses, it is important to have smooth flowing lines and
curves. Use a program such as Illustrator or Corel and draw your
special font with 'bezier' lines and curves. For example, the letter
'O' should have top middle left right and 45 degree locking node
points so that it can be scaled up or down in size. Traditional signwriters always look for the weight of stroke when drawing (replicating) a font on a wall for the sign. So, when you draw the font on the computer, follow the same principle of getting thin and thick strokes appearing in your special font. A good place to find fonts on the web is What the font. It is a commercial site though but has lots you can learn from. |
