When making a rainbow effect for text, we'd suggest that you deepen
the yellow colors to make the text legible like above. To make the fancy letters like above, start with a normal line of text in Helvetica Extra Bold. Then, draw a rectangle to suit the height of the colored line sections. Then, perform a function in Illustrator or Corel known as weld and trim, using the intersect and weld.
