fresh'! About using an Adobe Illustrator file for blended sections. Please ensure that when creating a blend in Illustrator that you design your works in CMYK process. We also suggest that you use a medium-high stroke blend path for rendering so that when scales are applied, the blend does not suffer excessive banding. About using Adobe Illustrator and Fonts. Please create outlines for all font works. This does not mean applying a stroke, rather, smash the font apart and turn it into an object. Only objects can be scaled upwards without losing resolution. Poor pixilation will occur if a font is not broken apart in readiness for sign making. The sign above shows the excellent results of creating outlines in Illustrator. Outdoor advertising using this technique can be enlarged to maximum billboard sizes and not lose quality or definition and can then be made in a wider range of sizes and colors, completion methods and help your crew install up high or against a wall. Resolution is key to successfully outputting a large billboard or sign. Please create outlines when using Illustrator. For Corel users, the same principle applies and you should 'break apart'. Corel can also allow you to create a 'path direction'. This is particularly handy when large billboards are being made. It will ensure the file reads in a logical manner when going through the color rasterization stages. |

Many times an illustration or comic will work well on a sign, and
there is no extra printing cost to do so. Artwork Tip: Create your computerized comic in vector and avoid just placing element over element. If comic are not originally created 'layer free', it will be harder to enlarge the size for billboards etc. Artwork Tip: Use different free flowing line thicknesses. Known as line weight of stroke. If you look at the famous characters and comics, they all have one thing in common. Each line varies it's weight of stroke. This helps the human eye recognize the form. Also used for stills and life drawings. Advertising materials such as illustrations can be very powerful draw cards when professionally approached. Please take care if you are starting from scratch.
