How to intersect lines Looking at the logo above, you can see the two mountain tops intersect each other. To do this, once you have drawn your two icons, use a tool call 'weld'. This will trim the objects and create the outlined path. Tip: Fill the objects with alternate color before trimming. Then, you can see the two become one and visually check if correct. Also, notice how the little home icon is sitting above the "i", the font has been broken apart, then the "i" is placed into position. After you do a move like this, join the group together by... Tools > Group. This sign also shows a great use of between space for the letters. The bolder letters have been 'opened out' and the lighter typeface is capitalized to create a 'free space'. Looks good. |

generally better when bigger than first imagined. This is because
the surrounding areas will make the sign seem lesser in size. It is
an eye trick. To overcome this, calculate a size you deem
appropriate, then multiply by another 50%. Once up on the wall or
building it will give more advertising space relevance. Another trick is to fill the space with color that contrasts the backing panel. Eg. If you have red bricks for your shop wall, use a white. If your building is grey, use dark blue. |
