Special Fonts and Characters |
|
| Making a special
font for your sign is easy. If you have a corporate font style or
have designed your own font etc. To keep the signage uniform and
well laid out, we suggest that you attach the font in an email and
send it to us. It can then be installed on our servers and saved
into your own special client file for use by your company in all
advertising and designs printed. Special fonts that are available on the internet. When you look and/or find a special font such as a curly script, block font, cursive or fancy font, please look for these attributes: 1. The font has a well drawn set of strokes. This means that the up strokes should be slightly thinner than the down strokes. 2. The kerning (space between each letter) is self adjusting. A well drawn special font will increase, decrease the letters for certain character combinations. E.g. XA will require an adjustment lesser than CO etc. 3. If you find a font you like and it does not kern correctly, please point this out to the team. They will make a simple notepad doc and store it in your client file. 4. Another interesting point about fancy fonts. Please look for the overall letter combination when on a straight line. If the ascenders and descenders are too unevenly spaced, the words may appear to be 'broken' and become hard to read. A short note, many people believe that Times New Roman is the best font. Not so, It is not suitable for large sizes as the serifs and WOS all become ugly. Choose a different derivative to replace Times. |
