Printing Terminology - Bleed | |
| Bleed
– Printing an image past where the final print will be trimmed,
which allows color to extend all the Way to the edges of the final
print. Bleed for Screenprinting is when stock is first oversize and the printing ink extends past the desired finish size of the sign. When dry, the stock is later retrimmed for final sizing. This gives color right to the edges of the Sign. Screenprinting can not be 'one process' bled. It must be a two step process. Suggestion: The team may suggest a thin white line to prevent the additional costs of two steps. Please ask a quick question or send in a draft of your artwork for assessment. |
