Printing Terminology - Spot Colors | |
| Spot
Colors – Color times used independently in a printed piece
for a specific need (i.e., The solid blue used on this page), or in
overlapping combinations (including those with process colors). Spot
colors can be described as pulling down a can of ink from the shelf
that is pre mixed to the correct color. Note: Our production systems are CMYK so spot colors can not be exact. Very close, the four colors of CMYK are mixed to achieve the closet match. For Vinyl self adhesive letters, Spot colors may be achievable provided colors match the vinyl pvc mill colors. |

| Viscosity – The term used to describe the degree of fluidity of a liquid. Regarding inks, a high viscosity indicates a thicker ink; a low viscosity indicates a more fluid ink. | ||
